'Hutch Tuesdays'

Bet you have seen the hoardings and ads for the Hutch 'Tuesdays' offer. Tuesdays are the slowest day of the week for most malls and multiplexes, so any promo that revs up sales would be welcome.

What's more, it's a simple buy one, get one free deal applicable at Dominos, Barista, Fame and several other interesting outlets. But I don't have the full list and so I go the Hutch website in search of what's on today. Forget being highlighted on the homepage, you can't find a whiff of an offer - anywhere on the site.

OK, so someones remembers getting an sms from Hutch, we check it and call 123500 for details. And manage to download the 'm coupon'.

Now to contact Domino's. Again we check for the number on the net and call the Prabhadevi outlet. After much deliberation, the voice at the other end declares, " We don't deliver". Uh, Domino's does not deliver? Then what does it do??

The mystery is solved when they explain this is actually the Khar outlet. OK, so we dial Prabhadevi. There is more confusion at their end regarding the offer. We are about to abandon the search for cheesy nourishment on a night-when-we-will-be-working-late when someone finally gets it.

And in another 20 minutes, the pizza should be here. Or will it? The suspense continues. Thank you 'Hutch Tuesdays' for adding a little excitement to our dreary lives.

As if hanging from the office staircase to receive your faint signal... was not enough.

  1. What's the logic behind Tuesday being the slowest day for malls and multiplexes anyway?

  2. Initial hiccups to such new project will always be there. But going forward this concept will become more and more successful as it is convenient to both customers and company. So let's not be too much critical at this stage itself instead one should welcome Hutch for coming up with this concept.

  3. Oh...is that why Bonsaii has 10% discount on Tuesdays(Pune branch). When they gave me the coupons I was wondering why "Tuesday"??

  4. That sounds like the 'lifetime free' credit cards or 'interest free' personal loans. No such thing as a free pizza, or a personal loan i guess.

  5. A friend purchased a watch for Rs17000 from Lokhandwala watches under the hutch tuesday offer and got another watch of Rs16.5k for free. Go figure. This was in June.

We dine almost every tuesday at Noodle Bar/Bombay Blue or Fountain Sizzlers using the 1 pe 1 free offer and whats more, we all use hutch (3 MCoupons), so we get 1 starter, 1 main course and 1 dessert free at Noodle Bar - amazing!

2 weeks back, I sent an SMS to the hutch tuesday offer to get a list of restaurants and starters and more was in them. So we upped and went, sat down and offered our M Coupoun. Were informed that they did not have this scheme anymore (we had a free main course earlier in June at S&M). Since we had already settled in, we decided to order anyway. Have complained to Hutch about wrong information, still waiting to hear from them.

If this becomes the norm, it wont be the slowest day of the week anymore.
